CECCE - Full French Opportunities

SEPT-JUNE 2022-23 

The Canadian Experience program is the ideal choice for students who want to become more familiar with the French language while experiencing life in Canada. This program requires students to be at least level A2. This program can also serve as preparation for the School Experience component, which requires a higher level of French language skills.

SEPT-JUNE 2022-23 

The School Experience program is the ideal choice for students who have good oral and written skills in French and who want to take the same courses as Francophone students in Ontario. This component may lead to obtaining the Ontario Secondary School Diploma and admission to a post-secondary program in Canada. This program requires students to be at least level B1.

Many specialized programs are offered including International Baccalaureate, sports studies, sciences, arts, etc.;

Online Class

SEPT-JUNE 2022-23 

The Virtual Experience allows students to take one or two courses online to build confidence in French, and also offers one semester or the full school year programs.

Courses offered mostly in asynchronous training by a teacher from the CECCE, but can also be offered in synchronous or hybrid mode, depending on the student's objectives and needs.

  • 24 hour/ 7 days a week Spanish and English support

  • Orientation course upon arrival working directly with the schools

  • Help familiarize students with the local bus system and mobile phone setup

  • Periodic (or under request) written reports or virtual meetings depending on the parent's preference. Offered in both Spanish and English.

  • Optional 1st-year supervised activities such exploring Ottawa and various festivals including Winterlude, and the Tulip festival, possible tour of Toronto or Montreal. (Depending on COVID-19 restrictions)

The Hybrid Experience offers

1st year online: through the online learning academy (AAV)

2nd year face-to-face: regular classroom lessons in Canada


Some advantages:

  • Have more time for study permit applications

  • Understand the Ontario curriculum

  • Become familiar with the content and operation of the courses

  • Benefit from a reduction on the tuition fees of the 2nd year in person


Admission criteria:

  • Educational level and age: Grades 9 to 11 (usually between 14 and 17);

  • Academic: Average above 70% (or B) over the past two years;

  • Language skills: A B1 level in French


Choose to start online in grade 11 and then do in person for grade 12. If you complete your high school education in a CECCE catholic school you save on tuition at the University of Ottawa*
